Inspiringly intimate self portrait, an unapologetic documentary that deals with coming of age, race, being first Gen, family relationship and trauma, doing art, white liberals, etc. So many topics are engulfed in the 80 mins but it didn’t feel overdone. Plus the imagery is so effortlessly beautiful :3

挺喜欢的。纪录片可以触及、填补真实与虚构之间的壑。曾经我们也有比这更优秀的纪录片，真的希望今后还能再有，且一直有。：）

在片尾感谢名单里找到了Hurston和Trouillot
把一个故事很艺术化的表达出来，好好看，但是可能还需要再看几遍才能吸收更多。贝拉的个人故事，加上人种问题的探讨，又透过个人家庭看到了相处模式与原生家庭的探讨。这部片子的声音设计也很值得学习和研究，很多的生画对立的使用很妙。

正如导演所说“自恋且有时残忍”，作为私影像，太想被“看到”（尤其是那段白人朋友关于种族主义的讨论），给人的感觉像是在阅读一个人自称“写给自己”，但精心点缀了几个爆点，实际上还买了推广和会员的微博随笔。

这可能是我目前为止看过的最小众的纪录片了吧。有点无聊，分三次看完的，配乐有点聒噪且让人昏昏欲睡，但是这种流动的画面感太强了。昏暗又明亮的色调，真的好美。如果说以前的我还有一点对黑人种族的偏见（比如暴力，比如犯罪，内心有些恐惧）看完这部纪录片之后，这种狭隘的观念彻底消除了。我难以总结这部电影到底讲了什么，像是看完了一个漫长的vlog，记录的是贝巴前25岁的人生和思想观。只是黑屏以后，我看见的，还有我自己。
